In terms of psychotherapy, we offer initial assessments and short-term therapy. For initial assessments, we focus on getting a full understanding of an individual by what’s called a biopsychosocial assessment. This includes looking at different important parts of an individual’s life to understand their symptoms in a holistic manner. This assessment helps to give us an understanding of the best treatment recommendations for care that we offer.
One of these treatment options that we offer in-house is short-term counseling. In short-term counseling we focus specifically on issues that can be improved upon in 6-8 sessions. The time is focused on developing solutions, practical therapeutic skills and realistic personal goals that can bring about more lasting change following the end of therapy.
All of our therapists hold advanced degrees in social work, psychology, and professional counseling. All have had clinical experience in urgent care environments before coming to Oasis.
The staff ranges in specialties that include:
- Stress Management
- Life Transitions
- Communication issues
- Workplace problems
- Parenting skills
- Adolescent Adjustment issues
- Trauma
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Relationship Issues
- Parenting issues
- LGBTQ Affirming Care
- First Responders Care
The majority of adults are treated in a short-term model for up to 6-8 sessions. Patients that will require further therapy are assisted by the patient advocate to make the next treatment decision. Children, adolescents and families may receive a more traditional therapy to resolve their initial mental health issue.
